Workshop on advanced motorway traffic control
Instructions to authors
Please send completed papers to James Taylor (address) to arrive by November 30th. Subsequent to the workshop, it is envisaged that selected papers will feature in a special issue of an appropriate journal (as full papers subject to normal reviewing procedures).
It is important that you provide a "Top copy" of your paper ready for photocopying. For this reason, it is preferable that your paper is either printed on paper or printed to a file (postscript or encapsulated postscript). However, if this is not possible, please provide a Microsoft Word 97 for Windows 95 document.
Electronic submission of papers: If you wish to send your paper electronically, to ensure that it arrives in time, please put it on the web for me to download and send an email informing me of the appropriate "http" or "ftp" address. Please do not send your paper by email.
Deadline for submission: Monday 30th November.
Number of pages: 6-10.
Paper format: The papers will be copied, collated and given to delegates attending the seminar, so to keep the layout and presentation reasonably uniform, it would be helpful if authors could follow the guidelines below.
Paper size: A4.
Margins: top/bottom/left/right - 2.5 cm.
Body of text: 12 pts Times New Roman.
Layout: single column, left and right hand justified text, with single line spacing (12pts).
Paper title: The title should be on the first line, in initial capitals, bold type and font size 16 pts. Leave two lines of space before typing the authors names and affiliations. Then leave a further 2 lines of space.
Synopsis: Please include a brief abstract under the heading "SYNOPSIS" in bold capitals.
Headings: Main headings (numbered) should be typed in bold capitals with one line of space above and below. Subheadings (1.1, 1.2 etc.) should be typed in initial capitals, bold type and have one line of space above and below.
Tables/Illustrations: Tables and figures (black and white only) can be placed within the text if possible or else at the end of the paper. These should be labelled Figure 1, Table 1, etc., together with an appropriate caption.
